April 24, 2021 - North St. Paul Historic Walking Tour - Start Point: Hause Park, North St. Paul, MN 55109

Times: Start from 8am - 11am, finish by 2pm

Description: 5k, 6k & 11k. North St. Paul Historical Walking Tour is based on a tour prepared for the North St Paul Historical Society. North St. Paul was a planned "workingman's community with industries and housing in a resort atmosphere." It was the brainchild of Captain Henry Castle, a Civil War veteran, editor of the St Paul Dispatch, and the owner of a 1,200-acre farm on the south and east shores of Silver Lake. His dream of a large city died in the depression of 1893, but the town survives.

Rating: 1A, no pets

Directions: North St. Paul lies southwest of the I-694/Hwy 36 interchange. From either freeway, drive south on Geneva Ave/Century Ave/Hwy 120 to 4th Ave. Turn right (west) for two blocks to start point.

Comments: On street parking available. Restrooms at start point and along the route.

May 22, 2021 - Brooklyn Center Girl Scout Walk - Start Point: The parking lot for the park across the street behind the Girl Scout offices. Girl Scouts River Valleys, 5601 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center

Times: Start from 9am - noon, finish by 3pm

Description: 5k & 10k. Walk through a shopping area, neighborhoods and nice nature trails (you get it all!). 

Rating: 1A, no pets

Directions: From Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center, go north on Brooklyn Blvd. Access the service road by turning left on 55th Ave, then right on service road to the Girl Scouts building on the left. Look for us in the parking lot for the park across the street from the Girl Scout offices.

July 24, 2021 - Downtown Hopkins & Cedar Lake Trail Walk - Start Point: Minnesota River Bluffs trailhead parking lot next to Hopkins Depot Coffee House. 9451 Excelsior Blvd, Hopkins, MN 55343

Hours: Start from 8 - 11am, finish by 2 pm

Description: 5 & 10k. Hopkins has been a community since the 1850s, before Minnesota was a state. The Cedar Lake regional trail follows former railroad lines of Great Northern Railway and Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway, and connects downtown Minneapolis to the western suburbs.

Special Programs: Little Free Libraries, Rockin' Around the Clock

July 25, 2021Woodbury Thrives Family Volksmarch - Start Point: Colby Lake Park, 9715 Valley Creek Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125

Description: 5k & 10k. Two 5k loops through neighborhoods, parks, and trails along Colby, Powers, and Wilmes Lakes.

New!  August 7, 2021 - University Stadium Walk - Start Point: Van Cleve Park, 901 - 15th Ave. SE, Mpls, MN 55414. Start Point is outdoors in the picnic area at the park recreation center.

Times: Start after 8am, finish by noon

Description: 5k & 10k. Walk passes University of Minnesota Stadiums and Dinkytown on urban sidewalks and paved trails. The 10k walk passes the Surly Brewery.

Directions: From north: Hwy 35W, exit at 4th Street SE exit, go straight one block and turn left onto University Ave (one way), turn left onto 15th Ave SE.

From south: Hwy 35W, exit at University Ave exit and turn right onto University Ave (one way), turn left onto 15th Ave SE. Van Cleve Park is on the left after passing under the railroad. NOTE: to return to Hwy 35W after the walk, go south on 15th Ave SE, turn right on 4th Street SE (one way) and follow the signs to 35W. On-street parking is available along the park perimeter and adjacent residential streets.

September 18, 2021 - Battle Creek Walk - Start Point: Battle Creek Waterworks Park. 24010 Upper Afton Road, Maplewood, MN 55119

Times: Start from 8 - 11am, finish by 1pm

Description: 5k & 10k. 5k loop is through rolling hills on a paved trail. Restrooms at the starting point and two satellite toilets along the trail. 10k trail is out and back from the start point to Battle Creek Park at Hwy 10/61 along Battle Creek along a paved trail. 10k trail has restroom at start point only.

Rating: 1A, pets okay

Directions: Take I-94 to Century Ave. Take Century Ave south to Upper Afton Rd. Turn right on Upper Afton Rd. Park entrance is on the right.

October 16, 2021 - TCV Annual Meeting - Coon Rapids Dam Walk - Start Point: Kathy's Dairy Mart, 10490 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433

Times: Registration at 9am. 10k group starts at 9:30am. 5k group starts at 10:15am.

Description: 5k & 10k. This guided walk is on residential streets a few blocks to get into and out of the Coon Rapids Regional Park for a nice walk along the Mississippi River.

Rating: 1A

Special Programs: Doin' the Louisiana Purchase

Directions: From east or west I-694, go north on East River Road (turns into Coon Rapids Blvd) to Hanson Blvd. Left on Hanson 2 blocks. Kathy's is on the right. Park in lot away from the front of the building.
