You can walk seasonal & year-round events for event credit over and over and over again!  Walk as often as you wish and stamp your books each time.

The POC does not provide event directions nor accept alternate payment.

 

Bloomington: Nine Mile CreekDates: April 1 - Oct. 31, 2021 Start Point: 10000 Colfax Avenue South (private home)  Times: dawn to dusk  Description: 5k & 10k walk.  Walk is in Nine Mile Creek Valley with some residential areas. Porta-potty at park.  Rating: 1A, pets okay  Special Programs: Little Free Libraries  Directions: From north: I-35W south to 98th St exit.  Cross 98th Street and continue on Dupont.  Veer left around tennis center to 100th St (1st street behind the tennis center).  Turn right on 100th St and go one block to 10000 Colfax Ave.  From south: I-35W, exit at 98th St.  Turn left at stop light, cross over the bridge, turn left onto Dupont, and follow directions above.  Park on street.  Start box is located in backyard of a private home, under the picnic table.  Contact: Ken & Jane Legaard, (952) 881-5524, This email address is being protected from spambots. Duluth Lake Superior Walk - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Start Point: Duluth Comfort Suites, 408 Canal Park Drive, Walk box is located on a lower shelf near the sofa in the front lobby. Please do not unnecessarily distract the staff at this very busy hotel. Times: dawn to dusk Description: 6k & 10k walk. Trail starts at Canal Park and winds along the boardwalk on the shore of Lake Superior. Route includes downtown area and crosses the historic Aerial Lift Bridge. Rating: 1B, pets okay Special Programs: Great Lakes, Great Fun, Great Fitness, Great Friendships  Directions: From I-35, take exit 256B for 5th Ave W. Continue driving past 5th Ave & Harbor Drive, to S Lake Ave. Turn right. Stay left - road becomes Canal Park Dr. Do not park in the hotel parking lot unless you are a registered guest. Eagan: Lebanon Hills Regional Park Walk - web registration only - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Description: 5k & 10k. Choose among 15 well-groomed natural trails through 2,000 acres of woodlands, grasslands, marshes and lakes. More than 1,100 acres of prairie and forest are being restored and more than 3,000 new trees and shrubs are being planted throughout the park. Open dawn to dusk. NEW!  Hopkins & Edina 9-Mile Creek Walk web registration only - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Description: 28k in 5 segments. Walk on Three Rivers 9-Mile Regional Trail in the cities of Hopkins and Edina. This is a multi-segment walk. The concept is that you park your vehicle at one of many different points along the trail. You then walk out-and-back along one segment of the trail. When you have walked as many segments as you want, you then go to ava.org and "finish" the walk, entering the total number of kilometers you have walked. Madison Lake Walk - Blue Earth County - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Start Point: Casey's, 60 Walnut Ave, Madison Lake, MN Times: 7am - 8pm during daylight hours Description: 3k & 7k loops. Walk on the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail and in the city of Madison Lake. Rating: 1B Directions: Take I-35 south from Mpls to MN 60 exit 56 in Faribault. West on MN 60 to Madison Lake. MN 60 becomes Walnut Ave in town. Casey's is at the intersection of Walnut and 1st Street. Park beside the station on the NW side. Upon registering, check map/directions for alternate parking and start point at the DNR trail at Spruce & Main. Comments: Restrooms available at start point at on Sakatah Trail. Safety note: few sidewalks; when walking on roads, walk on left facing traffic. Contact: 

 

Maple Grove Nature Walk - Dates: April 15 - Nov. 15, 2021 Start Point: private residence, 11822 - 99th Place N, Maple Grove, MN 55369  Description: 5k & 10k. 5k walk goes out and back past the chalet and Bottineau Historic House on an Elm Creek Park Reserve paved trail. The 10k is a loop on Elm Creek Park Reserve paved trails with an additional 1k spur through the neighborhood. Rating: 1A Special Programs: Little Free Libraries, Mayflower Directions: From Hwy 169, take 610 west. Exit onto Zachary Lane north. At the roundabout, take an immediate right on Zachary Lane northbound and continue approx. 3/4 mile to 100th Place N/Maple Valley Drive and take a left on 100th Place just after the fire station. Go approx. 1/2 mile to 2nd stop sign on 100th Place and go left onto 99th Place N. It is the second house on the left. Box will be under the bench on the front step. NEW!  Maple Grove Omni Brewing Walk - Dates: April 15 - Nov. 15, 2021 Start Point: private residence, 11822 - 99th Place N, Maple Grove, MN 55369 Description: 6k/10k. 6k route is on paved trails past the Elm Creek Park Reserve Chalet, the historic Bottineau House, and the Omni Brewing Company. 10k route includes the Medicine Lake Regional Trail and residential neighborhoods. Water and restrooms available at the Elm Creek Park Reserve. Food and refreshments available at Omni Brewing Company. Minnehaha Creek connects two popular parks in the Twin Cities as it flows through a mix of woodland and open areas. Plymouth - French Regional Park Walkweb registration only - Dates: April 1 - Dec. 31, 2021 Description: 5k & 10k. Two 5k loops. Walk the paved trails of a 337-acre regional park on the shore of Medicine Lake with a mixture of open and wooded terrain. Nordic walking poles and GPS units with pre-loaded geocaches are available to rent for free at the visitor center. Free parking available at start point. NEW!  Rogers - Crow-Hassan Park Walkweb registration only - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Description: 4k, 6k, & 10k. Walk through mixed forest and prairie along the Crow River in an area similar to what Minnesota was like in the 1850s. Stillwater WalkDates: May 1 - Oct. 31, 2021 Start Point: Ann Bean Bed & Breakfast, 319 W. Pine St., Stillwater  Times: daily, 8am - dusk  Description: 5k & 10k walk. Go by the St. Croix River, riverfront parks, historic homes, lift bridge and antique shops. There is something for everyone in this historic lumber town. St. Paul: Crocus Hill Walk - web registration only  - Dates: April 1 - Oct. 31, 2021 Description: Crocus Hill, also known as Summit Hill, is one of the oldest and most popular neighborhoods in St. Paul. It's a treasure of history, architecture, distinctive pedestrian-oriented shopping and dining experiences, and strong community connections. It includes fashionable, well-preserved Victorian-era dwellings and other historic architectural treasures. Trail is paved sidewalks with some moderate hills. St. Paul: Trout Brook/Oakland Cemetery Walk - web registration only - Dates: April 1 - Oct. 31, 2021 Description: 5k & 10k. Walk goes through a former railroad site that has been transformed into a 42-acre sanctuary of native grasses, flowers and trees. The 10km route goes through Oakland Cemetery. Woodbury: Pollinator Gardens Walk  - web registration only - Dates: April 1 - Sept. 30, 2021 Description: 6k & 10k. Two loops (3.4k & 6.6k). Woodbury is committed to improving the pollinator population in our community. This walk will take you past pollinator nurseries and pollinator gardens, as well as enjoying some of Woodbury's scenic parks. Open dawn to dusk.
