2020 Year-Round Events

 

Year-round events (YREs) are available from January 1 through December 31.  You can now walk seasonal & year-round routes for event credit over and over and over again!  Walk as often as you wish and stamp your books each time.

Awards/Fees - Awards may be available: prices vary.  Credit only: $3.  Non-credit: $2.

Bloomington: Mall of America Walk - Start Point: Country Inn & Suites, 2221 Killebrew Dr.  Times: daily, during mall hours, usually 7am to 9pm  Description: 5k & 10k.  Round-trip from hotel to mall is 1k. Each level (1-3) is 1k.  Please respect shoppers.  Rating: 1A  Special Programs: Ice Cream Parlors Directions: The Mall of America is located between 24th and Cedar Avenue just south of I-494.  Go east on I-494 to Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) exit 2C, then take Killebrew Dr.  Turn right into Country Inn & Suites motel across from the Mall. The start point is also served by Metro Transit Routes 495, 5, 515, 538, 539, 540, 542, 552, and the Blue Line.  Contact: Kevin Carlson, (651) 487-1634   *group walk Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 7:30am. Minneapolis: Lake Nokomis WalkDescription: 6k & 11k walk.  This is a paved trail around Lake Nokomis and the Lagoon. Rating: 1A 

Minneapolis: Minnehaha Creek - Description: 5k & 10k. Walk along beautiful Minnehaha Creek. 10k includes the historic Longfellow House and Minnehaha Depot. Rating: 2A, pets okay

Start Point: Caribou Coffee, 4745 Cedar Ave S Times: M-F: 6am - 9pm, Sat-Sun: 6:30am - 9pm, Open holidays, Call 612-724-1234 to verify hours. Directions: Located on the NE corner of Cedar Ave and Minnehaha Parkway. From I-94: go south on Cedar Ave approximately 3 miles. From Crosstown Hwy 62: go north on Cedar Ave approximately 2 miles. St. Paul: MN State Capitol Walk - Start Point: 925 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105 Times: walk during daylight hours Description: 7k & 10k. This walk is mostly on flat, paved sidewalks with some inclines. It winds through historic areas of St. Paul, past historic churches, veterans memorials, the MN State Capitol, Minnesota History Center, and the Excel Energy Center (St. Paul Civic Center).  Rating: 2A  Special Programs: State Capitals Directions: Take I-94 east or west to Dale St exit.  South on Dale to Grand Ave.  West (right) on Grand to corner of Milton and Grand.  Street parking only - please DO NOT park in the station's lot.  Contact: Lynne Grigor, (763) 780-4567, This email address is being protected from spambots. St. Paul: Minnehaha Falls/Ford Dam Walk - Start Point: Highland Park Community Center, 1978 Ford Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55116. Start box is on top of the recreation center reception counter, far right. Times: Open from 9am M-F, 10am Sat, and 1pm Sun. Phone: (651) 695-3706 to verify hours Description: 5k & 10k. Route travels along Highland Park commercial and residential streets to the Mississsippi River and across the Ford Parkway bridge to Minnehaha Park. Features include Minnehaha Falls, the Ford Dam and the historic John Stevens house. Two 5km options are available: one to the falls and one to the dam. Rating: 1A, pets okay Special Programs: Little Free Libraries Directions: Take the 7th St W/Fort Rd exit off of I-35E (which is 3.5 miles south of I-94 in St. Paul). Head southwest (toward the airport) on 7th St W/Fort Rd. Slight right onto Montreal Ave. Continue straight to stay on Montreal Ave. Turn right onto St. Paul Ave and continue onto Cleveland Ave S.
