2018 Year-Round Events

 

Year-round events (YREs) are available from January 1 through December 31.  You can now walk seasonal & year-round routes for event credit over and over and over again!  Walk as often as you wish and stamp your books each time.

Awards/Fees - Awards may be available: prices vary.  Credit only: $3.  Non-credit: $2.

Bloomington: Mall of America Walk - Start Point: Country Inn & Suites, 2221 Killebrew Dr.  Times: daily, during mall hours, usually 7am to 9pm  Description: 5k & 10k.  Walk entirely within the first three levels of the Mall of America.  Please respect shoppers.  Rating: 1A  Special Programs: Bridges, Ice Cream Parlors, Louisiana Purchase, Points of Reference, Water Fountains Directions: The Mall of America is located between 24th and Cedar Avenue just south of I-494.  Go east on I-494 to Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) exit 2C, then take Killebrew Dr.  Turn right into Country Inn & Suites motel across from the Mall.  Contact: Kevin Carlson, (651) 487-1634

 

Minneapolis: Lake Nokomis WalkStart Point: Caribou Coffee, 4745 Cedar Ave S Times: M-Th: 5am - 9pm, Fri/Sat: 5am-10pm, Sun: 6:30am - 10pm, Call 612-724-1234 to verify hours.  Description: 6k & 11k walk.  This is a paved trail around Lake Nokomis and the Lagoon. Rating: 1A Special Programs: Louisiana Purchase Directions: Located on the NE corner of Cedar Ave and Minnehaha Parkway. From I-94: go south on Cedar Ave approximately 3 miles. From Crosstown Hwy 62: go north on Cedar Ave approximately 2 miles. Park behind SuperValu grocery store next door. St. Paul: MN State Capitol Walk - Description: 7k & 10k. This walk is mostly on flat, paved sidewalks with some inclines. It winds through historic areas of St. Paul, past historic churches, veterans memorials, the MN State Capitol, Minnesota History Center, and the Excel Energy Center (St. Paul Civic Center).  Rating: 2A  Special Programs: Louisiana Purchase, State Capitals

St. Paul: Summit Avenue Walk - Description: 5k & 10k. This trail is along beautiful and historic Summit and Grand Avenues with views of the Governor's Mansion and local college campuses.  Rating: 1A  Special Programs: Food for Throught, Ice Cream Parlors, Louisiana Purchase, Points of Reference, Vice Presidential Walks

The Start Point for these two walks is: Super America Station, 925 Grand Avenue, St. Paul  Times: walk during daylight hours  Directions: Take I-94 east or west to Dale St exit.  South on Dale to Grand Ave.  West (right) on Grand to corner of Milton and Grand.  Street parking only - please DO NOT park in the station's lot.  Contact: Lynne Grigor, (763) 780-4567, This email address is being protected from spambots. St. Paul: Minnehaha Falls Walk - Description: 5k & 10k. This trail wind along St. Paul streets to the Mississippi River and across Ford Parkway brige to Minnehaha Park. Walk on paved paths to the historic John Stevens and Longfellow houses. Rating: 1A, pets okay Special Programs: Amphitheatres, Bridges, City Parks, Louisiana Purchase, USA - Street by Street

St. Paul: Three College Campus Walk - Description: 5k & 10k.  This walk is through St. Catherine's College, St. Thomas University, Macalester College and by the Mississippi River.  Rating: 1A, pets okay. Special Programs:  Louisiana Purchase, Vice Presidential Walks, Walk the USA Street by Street
